How to Complete Tasks
Mark tasks as done directly from the task list or from inside a task — in one click.
Overview
There are two ways to complete a task in Breakcold: directly from the Tasks list using the inline checkbox, or from inside a task detail using the "Mark as done" button. Both move the task to the Completed column instantly.
- Method 1: Click the circle checkbox on a task row in the list
- Method 2: Open the task, then click "Mark as done" at the top right
- Completed tasks are collected in the Completed column and can be reviewed at any time

The Tasks list shows your tasks grouped by status — Active, Due today, Overdue, and Completed.
Method 1 — Complete from the Task List
The fastest way to complete a task is directly from the list view, without opening it.
- Go to Tasks in the left sidebar to open the All Tasks view.
- Hover over a task row. A circle checkbox appears to the left of the task name.
- Click the circle to mark the task as complete. It moves instantly to the Completed section and the count updates.
Hover over a task row to reveal the circle checkbox — click it to complete the task instantly.

The task is struck through and moved to Completed — the completion date is recorded automatically.
Note — The Completed counter in the column header updates in real time each time you check off a task.Method 2 — Complete from Inside the Task
If you need to review the task context — linked conversation, notes, participants — before completing it, open the task first and use the Mark as done button.
- Click on a task name in the list to open its detail view.
- The task detail shows the linked record, due date, assignee, linked conversation, and any notes left on the task.
- When you're ready, click the Mark as done button in the top right corner of the task detail.
- The task is marked complete and you are returned to the task list, where the Completed count increases by one.

The task detail view shows the full context — linked record, conversation history, notes, and participants.
Click "Mark as done" at the top right to complete the task from within the detail view.
Reviewing Completed Tasks
All completed tasks are collected in the Completed section of the task list. You can scroll through them, see who completed them and when, and reopen any task if needed.
- In the Tasks view, scroll right or look at the Completed column header to see the total count.
- Click the Completed header or use the Display options (top right) to toggle Show completed tasks and view all completed items in the list.
- Completed tasks show the completion date and assignee — useful for tracking team activity and history.
The Completed section logs every finished task with its date — a full history of your team's work.

After completing tasks, the Active and Completed counts update across the board.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I undo completing a task?
Yes. Click on the completed task to open it and look for an option to reopen or uncheck it — this moves it back to Active.
Does completing a task notify anyone?
Not by default. Notifications depend on your team's workflow settings. To inform a contact, send a reply from within the task before marking it done.
Where do completed tasks go?
They stay in the same Tasks view under the Completed section. They are never deleted — you can always reference them or scroll back through your history.
Can I complete multiple tasks at once?
Currently, tasks must be completed one at a time using either method above. Bulk completion is not available.
Why can't I see my completed tasks?
If the Completed section appears empty, open the Display menu (top right of the Tasks view) and make sure Show completed tasks is toggled on.
