How CRM Data Enrichment Work Overall

Breakcold automatically fills in missing contact and company data — so your CRM stays complete without manual research.


What Is Data Enrichment?

Data enrichment is Breakcold's ability to automatically populate missing fields on your records — things like job title, location, bio, email addresses, phone numbers, and LinkedIn profiles — using public data sources.
Enrichment works in three ways:

  • Automatic enrichment — triggered when a new record is created (e.g. adding a person with a LinkedIn URL)
  • Bulk enrichment — manually triggered on a selection of records from the list view
  • Domain-based linking — automatically links People to Companies based on matching email domains
Enrichment uses tokens — Each data point enriched costs a certain number of tokens from your workspace balance. You can top up tokens from the Billing page.

Enrichment Settings

Before enrichment runs, you can configure its behavior globally from Settings → Enrichment. This page controls which objects are enriched, how company linking works, and what triggers automatic enrichment.

Enable or disable enrichment for People and Company records. Deals and custom objects do not support enrichment.

Enable domain-based linking

Automatically links a person to a company when their email domain uniquely matches a company's domain.

Auto-create companies from email domains

When a new person is created or updated with an email, Breakcold automatically creates a company record for that email domain if one doesn't exist.

Automatic Enrichment — When Creating a Record

The most common enrichment trigger is creating a new person with a LinkedIn URL. As soon as the record is saved, Breakcold queues it for enrichment in the background.

  1. Click + New Person in the People list view.
  2. Enter the person's Name and LinkedIn URL (and optionally email). The LinkedIn URL is the primary enrichment signal.
  3. Click Create Person. Breakcold immediately starts enriching the record in the background.

  1. The record appears in the list. While enrichment is in progress, hovering shows the tooltip: "This field is being enriched and may take a few minutes."

  1. Once complete, the fields are automatically filled in — including job title, location, bio, email, phone, and more.

After enrichment — fields like LinkedIn, Location, and Bio are populated automatically without any manual research.

Bulk Enrichment — Multiple Records at Once

You can also enrich a batch of existing records at once from the list view — useful when importing contacts or refreshing stale data.

  1. In the record list, check the boxes next to the records you want to enrich, or use Select All to select the entire list.
  2. In the bottom action bar that appears, click the Enrich icon.
  3. The Select enrichment targets modal opens. Choose which data points to enrich and review the token cost for each.
  4. Toggle on the data points you need, then click Enrich X records to confirm.

Token cost — Bulk enrichment on large lists can consume a significant number of tokens. Review your selection carefully before confirming, especially on large batches.

Viewing Enriched Data on a Record

Once enrichment completes, all populated data is visible on the individual record's Overview tab — including related contacts, company, email, job title, and bio fields.

Frequently Asked Questions

What data can be enriched?
Breakcold can enrich: Work Email, Personal Email, Phone, LinkedIn profile, job title, location, bio, and general metadata depending on the available public data for the person or company.
How long does enrichment take?
Individual record enrichment typically takes a few minutes. Bulk enrichment on large lists may take longer depending on queue size.
Does enrichment overwrite data I've entered manually?
No — enrichment only fills in fields that are empty. It will not overwrite data you have already entered on a record.
Can I enrich Deals or custom objects?
No — enrichment is only available for People and Company records. Deals and custom objects do not support enrichment.
What is domain-based linking?
When enabled, Breakcold automatically links a person to a company record when the person's email domain matches the company's domain. For example, a person with an @breakcold.io email is automatically linked to the Breakcold company record.
