Can You Change or Add a Profile Picture to a Record

Yes! You can upload a custom profile picture for any person or company record in just a few clicks.


Overview

Yes, you can add or change a profile picture on any record. By default, records display initials or a placeholder avatar. You can replace this with any image from your computer by clicking on the avatar in the record detail view.

Step 1 — Open the Record

Navigate to your records list (e.g. People) and click on the record you want to update.
Click on a record in your list to open its detail page.

Step 2 — Click on the Avatar

On the record detail page, look at the profile picture area in the top-right corner. By default it shows the person's initials in a circle. Hover over it and click to open the file picker.
Hover over the avatar area and click to upload a new picture.

Step 3 — Select an Image

A file picker dialog will open. Browse to the image you want to use and select it.
Select an image file from your computer.
Tip — Square images work best for profile pictures. The image will be cropped to a circle in the display.

Step 4 — Picture Updated Instantly

Once you select the file, the profile picture is uploaded and updated immediately. You will see an "Avatar updated" confirmation message.
The new profile picture is applied instantly with an "Avatar updated" confirmation.
Note — The new profile picture will also appear in the records list view, making it easier to visually identify contacts at a glance.

Changing the Picture Again

To replace an existing profile picture, simply click on the current avatar again. The same file picker will open and you can choose a different image. The new picture replaces the old one immediately.
You can change the profile picture as many times as you like.

Does this work for company records too?
Yes. The same process applies to company records — open the company detail page and click on the avatar to upload a logo or image.
What image formats are supported?
You can use common image formats such as PNG, JPG, and GIF.
Is there a size limit for profile pictures?
There is no strict limit, but smaller images (under a few MB) will upload faster. The image is automatically resized for display.
Can I remove a profile picture and go back to initials?
Currently you can replace a profile picture with a different image, but the default initials avatar is shown when no custom picture has been uploaded.
Will the profile picture show in the list view?
Yes. The updated picture appears everywhere the record is displayed, including list views, card views, and relation fields.
